    Default Item not received dispute help

    I posted an item to Malta first thing last Wednesday by airmail. The buyer has just opened an item not received dispute with paypal. Is this not a bit early - I just wondered what other people would do? I would have thought waiting a week for an item being shipped overseas would be more of a normal timescale. I am happy to refund the money if it doesn't arrive but as this is the first time it has happened to me I wanted to get some advice as to how best to handle this.

    i sold a item to some one in malta a year or so ago via ebid after two weeks they said there item had not arrived i advised leave it another week if its not turned up i will refund, the item did turn up after 3 weeks,

    there paypal address was slightly different from there ebid address, interestingly they started to sell what they bought of me a week later on feebay in bulk i suspect as mine was a branded item they copied the decals decals=higher price,

    to answer your question directly air mail to europe at the moment is taking longer than usual 3 working days in your case short a time for a item to get to malta

    Agree with the above, IME overseas mail always takes longer than domestic mail, sometimes weeks; I'd advise the buyer of this and tell them to keep in touch with you. Also, if you haven't already done so, I'd remit any tracking info. to Paypal so they can confirm your shipment date/info..

    There is no tracking info available to overseas destinations offered by the Royal Mail.


    Well not at realistic prices for a low value item.

    Its worth mentioning that the international post seems to be running slow recently. I get a lot of mail from Germany. Had a letter today, posted 30 October. I had already contacted the sender, to say the item was missing. The story is the same with mail from the Czech Republic. Letters that normally take four days are taking fourteen. Is anyone else experiencing similar problems with international mail ?

    sending royal mail parcels to germany is taking up too two weeks at the moment parcel force depending on what type of shipping you choose is about right for what they qoute

    yes thats what they say on there web site but the reality is different

    although there not obliged to give tracking info if you ring them if you have a problem its surprising what information they do have to hand ! i suspect as this service is barcoded it does conflict with other services they and parcel force provide.

    if you send by the above method to Japan it will tell you when its on the plane which there contracted to do when it gets to japan you will be able to track it via the jap post office web site and get a confirmed sig why ? because its barcoded.

    if you send the send example to thailand its 50/50 if its tracked in thailand and 50/50 if you get a sig [ which you should do as you contracted for that]

    germany also will track the item to its final destination with a sig at the end

    ive no doubt the post office dont tell you this because the tracking system through out the world is inconsistent

    I have had internal letters within the UK take up to 10 days recently to arrive, so I think the post is running slow at the moment.

    It will probably get even slower as Christmas nears...............last year it took over a month to get a parcel to the US from the US....and vv
