Help with Stock Photo, please

hi there;

I've read through the forum on how to add a stock photo or change it. It doesn't give me an option to change or to ad as the one showing is not one of the nice photos

I like to blame my out of date glasses but I kept trying with no victory... help!!

Not really clear on what you are asking..........I don't use stock photos. Did you read astral's help thread, and also the FAQ's and videos which can be found by clicking the help button at the top right of any page?? Good luck!

oi vey... i've never heard of stock photos, it's showing when im listing an item... any help would be great - i have a good reason for asking

A stock photo is one provided by eBid or another source for common items.........like new books. If you click that you want to add a stock photo, eBid has some available, depending on what you are selling........probably goes by ISBN numbers. I only use photos I take myself. Some people copy pics they've seen online, which is often against copyright laws, and a no-no. Stock photos are generally put on with open copyright so anyone can use it. They are fine for new items, but I wouldn't buy something with a slick stock photo if the person says the item is used..........you really don't know what it looks like then.

If your item is non-standard, like most of my items, then there probably won't be stock photos available from here or anywhere. There are sites that offer free photos to copy, and other stock photo sites that sell photos........for advertising, home use, fine art, etc.................

Have you tried adding a non-stock pic of your own? Perhaps that would override the stock photo.

Second HM, do read Astral's FAQs and Help pages, lots of good info. there. You can also search the forums for stock photo posts by using the search box in the upper right hand corner of the page.
