Default I wouldn't do this, would you?

Win the lottery and then carry on working.

If I did work, it would be for a charity, so someone else could have a paying job.

It would depend on the job I suppose.

Working for a charity is the same as working for a lot of bosses in my view.

Many jobs serve a socially responsible purpose and I might help people more effectively in a paid position than I would as a volunteer.

Also there are many different jobs working for charities and many of these jobs will only go to those with particular qualifications.

I know I would have to be doing something worthwhile otherwise I would be bored outta my brains.

I couldn't just sit on a beach all day either, but I wouldn't take money I didn't need, if someone else needed it more.

That would be the best use of the money in my view.

We had a local winner who purposely went looking for people to help out.

They paid for a whole bunch of elderly veterans to go to Europe to visit war graves there...paid their air fairs and hotel bills too...I thought that was a lovely way to spend some of the money.

yep totally agree, it makes my blood boil when I see charities supposedly helping desperate people or animals even, taking a huge slice of the pie to line their own pockets, ye the ones at the top as usual. And then the waste in other areas too, Patriot you are spot on with that idea!

its like oxfam there shops are like upmarket shops like debenhams ect wonder where your money goes to.what i dont like is people at the entrance of supermarkets shaking there tins in front of you i do give to charitys but my own choice.bye the way i would never go public if i won the lottery.but i do think that what moonwitch said that sounds like a real worthwhile thing to do.i would go along the lines of that and prberly travel to africa to the realy needy people and give them things .
