New member status after being a member for over 4 years

I am curious why it still shows me as a new member with the sunglasses next to my name since I have been a member of Ebid for over 4 years, How do I get these off of my ID?????????????????

The glasses go away when we get 5 positive feedbacks. Nothing to do with how long we've been a member.

Either buy or sell 3 more items & the glasses will disappear.

There was a very recent change to the textual meaning of the sunglasses icon from 'Low Feedback' to 'New Member' (after continued requests by some members who felt the text was off-putting to buyers).

Personally, I don't see the need for the sunglasses icon at all.

If the true meaning is 'low feedback', that is shown as a figure right next to it anyway.

If the meaning is (as it now says) 'new member', then it doesn't work as the criteria for the icons appearance (as you found) is not based on length of membership, but on feedback. Plus the ability to import feedback earned on other sites means a user can get rid of the icon on their first day of membership.

So, the icon is pretty pointless. It would be better got rid of totally in my view, as it provides no meaningful information. I don't hold out much hope of that happening though, as it took years to get admin to change the text.

Thanks all for explaining the sunglasses. They were not before and just appeared last month so I did not know why.
