Help please..... New to ebid need some tips & hints !!!!

Hi and thanks for taking your time out to read my thread.

Im trying to get noticed and start selling via ebid, ive had a few lookers but no buyers as yet.
I am totally new to selling on a serious note and much prefer to be making the items so want this to be as smooth and get it as right as possible.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Or give me any tips? All help is gratefully appreciated.

A very nice intro in your about me.

As you are a seller+ I would change my listings to BIN's with 7 days listings and 10 auto-relists.

That way they will get seen by Google and they will rise to the top of the listings.

Run Until sold items stay at the bottom of the list.

Hopefully others will offer some more advice.

Posted this to another thread, but it may be helpful here, too. Some thoughts:

1) Add a signature link to your forum posts, so members can click to view your listings.
2) Offer international shipping whenever possible to widen your potential customer base.
3) Use Plug Your Auctions to promote your items (1x per 24 hours, remove/delete old plug before adding new one).
4) Use 7-10 day listings with auto reposts to ensure your items move up searches.
5) Participate in forums and eBid community activities, as YDC auctions, to help good causes and increase your visibility.
6) Tell everyone you know and meet about eBid.
7) Use social networking (as Facebook, Twitter, personal blog) to promote your listings.
8) Read Astral's FAQs page, Bykimbo's page and the Help section for good advice and tips.
9) Use MaO (if it's your thing) on listings and/or offer combined shipping or other incentives to buyers (if feasible) to purchase your items.
10) Let former customers on other sites know you're selling on eBid.

Hi Jacqueline,
So far, you are doing great.
You only sell to the UK. Consider selling worldwide for more exposure.
You have a very nice Me Page. Consider including your terms of sale ie returns, guarantees, payment options, etc
List as many items as you can for greater exposure.

Descriptions and images are great.
I love those cushion covers!

Jacqueline you may be totally new to selling but your listings, style and approach are far superior than the majority of so called 'experienced' sellers.

Couple of things..........

You need to get those cushions into a shop. This will link all your cushions nicely together and give you more of an identity as a seller.
It will also give you 'meta tags' words you can add to your shop for search engines - and you really need this. There is probably better example I could give but I will use the one that is probably the most clearest to comprehend, so just as an example:

The chula hula bright cushion (not the other chula one, the bright one) is a complete cushion so has the insert. Yet this may well appeal to someone who is searching using the key words chula hula cushion cover, of course its difficult to put the keyword cover into the title because technically its the complete cushion as opposed to just a cover. So anybody searching for Chula Hula Cushion Cover on google would not see your listing as it does not have cover in the title. By having the shop you can put relevant keywords into the meta tags section - this will mean search engines might pick up on those words that you have in that section. So by putting cover in the meta tags section it will mean that if a buyer searches on google using the keywords chula hula cushion cover your listing may well still show up even though cover isn't in the title.

I will add that meta tags are a compete law unto themselves - sometimes the search engines will pick them up and other times not. However as long as you are using relevant keywords to your items listed in the store then there is nothing to lose and potentially a lot to gain.

As previously mentioned get rid of the run til sold.

Don't put !! in the titles.

The more unique items that you can make and list will mean more exposure.

And the only other thing I will say is: I hope you are going to make tons of different cushions to put in your cushion shop.... I would also hope to see future shops from you in the 'Crafty' range, go for it - you are obviously more than capable.

Jacqueline, your items are beautiful - you can just see the quality and hard work that you have put into making your cushion covers.
I really hope that you follow deanos' advice, and add lots more of your unique items.

Yes Deano's advice is so good, he could be charging for it.

Just think if ebid employed a couple of people like him to go through EVERYONE"S listings and offer to improve them and get rids of the dump and runs,then ebids sales might increase expotentially !

Forget Adwords
Increased Sales = more for everyone !

Once sales on ebid double the word will soon get round.
