    Angry I am truely shocked!

I am not easily shocked but was stunned at this........Purchased glasses in Jan 2012 An arm broke today so Still under guarantee.right.......Wrong. They are telling me the frames are from 2008! (Bull****) and cannot replace the arm you need new frames at £60. I refused to pay told them to get a new arm to which the response was "Well we can Super glue them for you!" Wonder why I got furious! Told them we are taking the family business else where. Shame I couldn't record the super glue comment! As it happens Now I will Have to super glue the arm BUT its not a response from professional optitions you expect!

Are you entitled to a copy of your records? If so, request it, not just your prescription. I'd think it would show you purchased frames and when. Do you have your receipt?
    Ta-Ta for now!

I had exactly the same problem, the arm broke off. Couldn.t be repaired as the frames were no longer made.(to be fair they were 4 years old), so as with you I would have had to buy a new pair- not cheap. So I opted for the super glue option and they have been fine, but I do take more care of them!!!
I would have thought tho if they were less than 12 month old you have consumer protection and should be entitled to a free repair or a new frame, might be worth checking.

my eyes seem to be changing so I guess I may need a new prescription soon!

    Cheers Alan

Have a word with trading standards before you apply the superglue!

If you bought the frames new in January 2012 and you have a 0ne year guarantee on the glasses as a whole,
then you are covered, unless of course you broke the frame.
If they can not replace the frame, it is their responsibility to replace the whole set.
If they refuse, trading standards are best or citizens advice.

I don't supose they are a well known company.

Why not go into the shop and tell them you are thinking of contacting Rip off Britain and see how they respond.
    Worth a go.
