Wow, Sal, that really sucks, though as Al said at least you won't have to deal with stepmother, so that's one consolation. I used to hate nursing homes big time (worked in several as a nurse over the years and hated the medical atmosphere) but the one Mom was in recently was really nice and homey with a family atmosphere, lots of paintings and color, and the staff were super, hopefully your Dad's will be the same.

Sorry about your dad, Sal. It's tough. Hopefully he will do well in an atmosphere that is happy and loving, and you can be at ease knowing you have done what's likely the best for him at this point. I've worked in nursing homes, and a positive atmosphere in a place can really help people.

Ready for cocktails...or cocoa. Long week. OH's cousin died unexpectedly during surgery, then cousin's mother had a stroke and died unexpectly on the day of her son's funeral.

Spoke to soon about my neighbours, they were at it again last night. It was like a war zone underneath me from 2.00 onwards, it affects my health, they are not getting away with it grrr
