Online auction site eBid has hit 6.5 million live listings, for a gross value of $5 billion in merchandise available for sale on the site. This represents a 23% growth rate over 10 months since the company hit the five-million listings milestone in November, 2011.
eBid founder Mark Wilkinson said, "Needless to say, we're extremely happy at reaching this point. I think the accelerated growth is due to a number of factors like our expansion into Brazil and Malaysia as well as our continued marketing efforts in the U.S." Founded in 1999 in the UK, eBid spans a total of 23 territories, covering more than 100 countries and five continents.
eBid also attributes its growth to its affiliate program that pays up to $104.99 for a single referral.
eBid offers zero insertion fees and offers users a choice of payment services including PPPay.com, Google Wallet, PayPal and Skrill (Moneybookers).
