Today's the Big Day at Work

Well, here I am, sitting half-awake drowning myself in coffee trying to wake up, have to hit the shower shortly and get ready to go to work. Normally I only work 2 days a week, Wed. and Thurs., but with Thanksgiving looming overhead I will be roasting off over 300 pounds of turkeys in preparation for the big day. This year's not as bad as last year (400 pounds), but believe me, I'll be so sick of turkey by the time I roast, cool down, de-bone and slice all of them I'll be one pooped senior citizen!

I figure by getting there around 4am I should get the first 8 turkeys in the ovens by 5:30-6:00. Hopefully by the time I'm done it should be around mid-afternoon...whew!

I hate turkeys too!
Years ago I worked in a grocery store as a meat dept manager. We would sell thousands and thousands of turkeys for thanksgiving and Christmas. The last thing that I wanted to see was a turkey on my table. We would have a prime rib roast for the holidays.

What HM said. Mary, keep up the good work, (or should I say fight the good fight?) Anyhow, BIG THANK YOU to you for making the Thanksgivings of others a whole lot brighter.

I hate turkey, too, much prefer pizza, Thanksgiving or not.

That is one lot of turkeys, Mary. No doubt that you will be pooped. I sure can understand that you wouldn't want to look at a turkey after you get through that.

I love turkey ---- and I'm a vegetarian ---- so I don't have it anymore (except I might snitch a little bite when no one is looking!! ).

I do love Thanksgiving. Hubby and are are going to an Ex-pat Thanksgiving dinner in Cardiff that night.....last year there were about 12 people...this year I think there will be around twenty. Yummy food, complete to pumpkin pie!!!mmmmmmm
