Listings Disappearing!

Same here!

I don't keep a detailed record of all the items I have listed but I do store them systematically. With the prints I list I put them in a folder and file them in a filing cabinet. It's only when I check later, auction listings against folder full of prints, that I realise auctions have gone missing.

Kedo, thanks! I am heartily sick of being told I did it by support. If I didn't have a huge number of items to sell which just won't work on any other site, I'd be long gone.

When mass reposting, on the confirmation page there is full details of successful and unsuccessful reposts. The reposted listings are shown together with their new IDs. Be sure to check this page each time to make sure all your reposts have been successful.

Gazza - I DO! Please take me seriously. I'm doing a complete stock/listings check at the moment. After that I will be keeping a very close eye on my listings. You will appreciate that with a goodly number of listings, this is difficult. I know there is a problem. I will continue to let you know as I find evidence. I would much rather just keep listing.

Madelaine, I apologise if you think we are not taking this seriously. We have investigated every instance of the problem when it is has been reported to us.

Every time it is a case of the item being "deleted" from Auctions I Ran. This is a manual function that is available in only one place on the whole site, by checking the "Delete" checkbox and submitting. It can only happen by the owner of the account ticking the box and submitting.

To help us to investigate this problem we changed our database to store the USERID and TIME of the person and when the item is removed from "Auctions I Ran". In this case the person was you and the time was 2013-02-01 14:08:40. For this reason I beleive that the item was removed by you, I have no reason to not believe our computers.

Leading on from this it must be the case that you are deleting it and either

1) not ticking the repost box also
or
2) you are ticking the repost box and the auction does not repost for some reason (if this is the case it will be confirmed on the confirmation page as each new listing is given an ID)
or
3) the listing is reposting and then being removed for some reason.

to help check for (1) we are adding more fields to our database to store the value of the repost checkbox to tell us if it was ticked or unticked and also we will store the new listing ID of the relisted item.

for (2) I hope you will check that the count of "successful" reposts shown on the confirmation page will match the number of new listing IDs that will all be shown on the confirmation page

for (3) we check every reported instance for a new listing that started at the same time the item was deleted and has been closed unnaturally. We are yet to find a match.

You are probably our harshest critic Madelaine, but we do and always will appreciate your help with growing eBid over the years and keeping us on our toes. But please believe we take every problem reported seriously and attempt to find a solution, if one is not evident we will keep working until it is.

I may be harsh, but I stay! Many harsher critics leave! Thank you for the assurance that you are serious about this. I'm not sure that listings are still being lost but I'm sure they were in the past (perhaps at some non-standard event such as one of the attacks?). And it is not just me. I'm just the one who really tries to give you evidence. I know that you can't work from vague observations. I'd really like not ever to find a problem again, honest I would.

I just added 14 items to my store. Now, everything has disappeared. It shows on my "auctions I'm running" page, but has disappeared from the store. It shows the # of items per category on the left, but says the store is empty...??

My listings have all disappeared too! It just says 'No items here at the moment' .
The categories list on the left is correct, but no listings!!!

Welcome to the Forum. There is a glitch it appears at the moment, no items are showing anywhere - it isn't just yours.
Don't worry, the Guys will be working on it to fix asap.

I listed a new item last night Vecceli Italy Bag, Listing ID 94920015. It shows up when I "user search" myself but it does not show up when I search for the item by name. When I "user search" myself 486 items are listed for sale. When I click on "Auctions I'm Running" only 484 items are listed for sale. Perhaps this info will help solve the disappearing listings problem.
