    Default Ubuntu Part Two...lol

    Well...finally installed Ubuntu alongside Windows.

Took an hour or so to sort out (thicko here) but will still need to do all that shut down/re-boot silliness if I want to switch to Windows unless I missed something.

Obviously, it is too early to tell if this is going to work out better for me...but I'm hopeful I will get the hang of it eventually.

What is it you are doing in Windows that you are not able to do in Ubuntu?

My thoughts are you're going to be much further ahead in the long run.
Windows for the PC (in my opinion) is headed for the chopping block .
When I add Linux I'll put it on 1 computer as it's main system.
    I'm still using windows.
We had a Linux group here a few years ago, however it is gone now, to bad I think I would have enjoyed it now.
    Good Luck

Well done Moonie. You can access your Windows files whilst still in Ubuntu if you want to. I'm using Linux Mint as you know but if I want a file from Windows I go Home>WinXP so it should be similar for you. Enjoy!

I changed from windows vista to linux - mint version - about six weeks ago. My only complaint is I wished I'd done it sooner, it's great.

If I can get the hang of it Moonie .......

I love ubuntu, would never go back to windows. There is 1 program that wont run on wine or ubuntu for me so i just set up a virtual drive with windows on that and can access it directly from my ubuntu.
