Door to Door Cold Callers..... How do YOU deal with them ?????

I don't know how I forgot this as it just happened this past Sunday.

Christine works from home on the phone Sundays through Thursdays. It needs to be quiet in the house while she's working and if there is a knock on the door or the doorbell rings Ol Bonzo goes nuts.

So it was just this past Sunday afternoon, I hear a knock on the door, Bonzo starts barking and growling. I go to the door, look out and see a little girl with a box of candy sitting on my landscape blocks and an older woman (I assume her mother) standing at my door talking on her cell phone. I open the door and this woman holds up her finger and says "hang on a minute".

I probably don't have to explain what happened next but it wasn't pleasant. I did say to the little girl she needs to explain life in general to her mother.

She had the nerve to yell out "you slammed the door in my face because I'm Black"! I had to reopen the door and say "no I slammed the door in your face becaiuse your stupid"!

How many of AGL's customers now won't be visited by a competing energy company, keeping them tied into AGL for longer than they perhaps might have.

Chameleon, I tell ya, them Geese are NOT to be messed with, they are formidable guardians and sentries of their property.
I can deal with most dogs, but these critters are a no-no, they mean business!

How many of AGL's customers now won't be visited by a competing energy company, keeping them tied into AGL for longer than they perhaps might have.

You are so right Pet, I thought it was very clever of them.
But as I'm happy to stick with AGL, the others can stay away!

Not exactly the door to door, but saw a brilliant one for unsolicited phone calls the other day.

This guy works from home and got a call regarding PPI. He strung them along until he found out the company name, Googled it and got the operator to confirm the address. He then said he was not interested and would like to be removed from the database and not contacted again, he added that if he was he would charge the £10 a minute for his time and would invoice within 20 days. The operator apologised and said his name would be removed. Two weeks later they called again. It took almost an hour for him to get confirmation that it was the same company and he then explained what had previously happened. After 20 days he sent them an invoice recorded delivery that stated payment within 30 days. After the 30 days he lodged a claim in the small claims court. They contacted him saying they would fight it. He replied that he had forwarded a recording of both phone conversations as evidence. All his calls were recorded as he made a living selling the equipment to do so. They paid up over £600 plus his costs for the court.
