Default BLACKBERRIES (of the fruit kind) and uses thereof.

Having realised that the blackberry season is just around the corner....does anybody have any ideas of what to do with them (other than making jam). I don't have a chest freezer to freeze them individually so any ideas you can chuck my way would be very much appreciated.

LOL RonOne....unfortunately they are not yet picked yet so your journey would be a waste of time....LOL

Cheesecake sounds good - I would imagine that would freeze quite well as well....

At the moment I have seen one or two ready but not enough to pick so I will wait a week or so and go out with my boxes, rubber gloves (so I don't get priced by the thorns) and probably the wellies so that I route through the thick hedges...that should really be a sight to behold LOL

A week, what do I do for a week, I won't be able to sleep tonight.
I'll probably eat the pillow while dreaming of the crumble.

    PS...You can call me Ron.

Ron..........I can only hope that your pillow tastes good LOL.

There are also sloes in the field near my house but as I don't drink alcohol (except for one snowball at Christmas) then I wont be picking them.

The dog Poppy is a pig........she has learnt that she can eat blackberries so can often be found to be eating the ones lower down. I have often used them when walking her if I have forgotten to bring out the dog biscuits.

You don't have to make sloe gin with sloes - you can make Sloe and apple jam
