Paypal query

I have just received payment for an item via Paypal with the following message:

"Please keep this number for future reference, as your customer doesn't have a PayPal Transaction ID for this payment."

does anyone know what this means?

I couldn't find any reference to it on the Paypal website - the payment is in my account, can it be reversed by the customer?

This sounds like a 'family and friends' payment. Have you participated in the YDC this month as this is the payment method usually asked for? Have you made a sale on eBid this month?

This is becoming quite frequent now.

I've had them, never had an issue, I think it's down to them being payments made by mobile.

No, I haven't participated in YDC this month
I made a sale here on eBid this evening, the payment received.

I haven't come across an email from Paypal like this, thus a bit 'suspicious'.

I am also not familiar with "family and friends" payments.

It sounds as though the buyer has gone immediately to PayPal to make the payment rather than wait for an invoice to use from you.

Family and friends payments don't incur charges on either side.
