Default Selling knives - just an idea

I was just thinking - could there be a way for sellers to sell knives in their own respective countries?

When a seller mentions a knife on the header or description, could there be a 'trigger' in place to automatically disallow international shipping giving the seller just their own country to ship to?

Would this method be in keeping with international knife laws?
Would this method be acceptable to sellers wishing to sell knives?

Would eBid accept this as a compromise?

I think, (may be wrong) that as eBid is registered as a UK site then it needs to abide by UK laws, which would stop this from happening

I think the problem is that eBid staff have enough trouble figuring out what is legal in this country, without having to worry about the laws in every other country, too. It is far easier just to have a blanket ban.

I think Raindropsies is correct. Selling knives in UK is age restricted so that's one problem. Another is that I suspect that selling knives online in UK is also illegal. So from eBid's point of view a blanket ban on knives is logical.
