PP What is the first step to open a store on ebid? Do I find it on my dashboard?

I found it no need to answer. Thanks for the suggestion

Answers to the original question would not be a very helpful barometer because of various factors which are also too variable.

I would suggest a specific window reflecting just SOLD items.
Just the type of item sold (image) of the last 10 or 20 items sold on the day or week.

Something like recentlly viewed - no price, no who the seller or buyer was.

Just the image, that could at least tell you what is presently going.

Not much of a gauge but it is a pointer.

You can find this for each country on the Home Page http://nz.ebid.net/ for you. The last 10 items sold in NZ were:

    50c Coin
    Pittsburgh Penguins Jersey
    2 Sports Cards
    Movie Poster
    Postcard
    Nicotine Gum
    Razor Blades
    Watermelon Seeds
    50c Coin
    Needlework Magazine

I think they are items sold in NZ though most of the sellers are UK or USA.

Just checked the UK Sold tab and interestingly I have only heard of one of the sellers, so there are probably a lot of sales taking place by people who do not visit the forums. Another thing is that quite a few of the sales are RUS which shows that with good keywords even those can sell, though they might still sell better if they were on a 7-10 day listing.

Thank you FM for the interesting reply. As a newbie the different paths on eBid are still perplexing to me but going the route, it will ease with each venture.

We do know how many views an auction lot has captured.
Going beyond the latter it may be of interest to many from which Country the Viewer was.

The Watcher would be eliminated due to the shipping instructions if not included.
The Viewer/Browser could be highlighted with a Country Flag pointer.

Knowing the frequency of Country visitors one could shape targeted advertising.

I get the impression not many (specifically the philatelic fraternity) is seeing me on eBid.
The latter again is valid probably for most Sellers and proven solutions could be persued.by self-advertising.

I use Google Analytics, it is free and gives you location for your viewers. You also get things like keywords, source (Google, Bing) and plenty of other useful information.

Thank you FM. Once again one can get overwhelmed with many possibilities, all options needing some timeframe and that is the obstacle - time. So we will slog on.

Some good detective work there and very interesting!
