I work from home and have the same concerns about safety. I have many customers collect in person and I'll have one of my children hanging around pretending to make a cuppa tea just in case but not yet had any problems. I have no problem with any one not want there phone number on display but I would like to able to and it has a proven track record in my line of work.

Well I'm surprised that ebid allows collection in person, as this could be open the system to abuse of selling off site, much more than a phone number.

All I want is to be able to answer buyer's questions over the phone, as I said in my other post, I have lots of customers from my other sites ringing to ask questions, such as "can I have 3 black and 2 ivory instead of 5 ivory" and they want a quick answer, like everything today, it's got to be instant, can't wait. I just want to offer the best customer service I can, is that too much to ask

I don't want phone numbers displayed I think it will get abused.

However I would like a better question and answer section which doesn't get displayed on the listing itself for all to see. Ebid could still monitor it to make sure there wasn't any off site dealing but I'm sure it would lead to many more sales if buyers could ask questions privately. People wanting to buy surprise gifts for relatives or buying something from the adult section I suspect would find this useful.

I would have my telephone number displayed. It would not bother me. If I had a bricks and mortar store would I hide my phone number - of course not. If buyers want instant answers to their questions and they can talk to the seller surely that would boost confidence for the buyer.

If I was asked to sell the item outside of eBid I would say a resounding NO, not fair to the site.

As for abuse - I have not been abused in years - open to offers!!
