    Default Pinterest question

Sorry if this has been asked before, but as a new Pinterest user I find the site darn difficult to navigate and IMHO the Help section is not much help at all. Thankfully, I have my eBid friends to help me out.

What I was wondering is if there is any way to sort or search pins, as I've started pinning and pretty much can't remember everything I've pinned to date and hate to keep scrolling up and down the page to check so I don't duplicate pins, (plus my old pc doesn't do so well with scrolling through lots of pix). A pin search within a page maybe? Hoping the veteran Pinterest users can answer this one.

Thanks and best wishes for many sales to all,

Search box top left of your profile page - when you have searched you are offered 3 tabs - pins, boards & pinners and a radio button which selects between just your pins and everyone's

    Re pinterest

example of how it could work for you

Someone searches for vintage glass buttons

vintage images of vintage glass buttons come up in search result (one of my items is on first page) although it has been sold the searcher can then see what else i have for sale or even look for other glass buttons on ebid.
As i have said previously i asked zero feedback buyers how they located my item and quite a few said pinterest.
So basically keep pinning, i dont delete sold pins because they are still useful in that they lead potential buyers to ebid.

Also images from blogs turn up on imagesearch results

I too find the site a bit difficult to use, but keep at it.

It's OK if I have the time to work the new sites out, but I rarely have the time any more.

I still like the KISS system best.

I have found that if I try to pin a picture that I've already pinned, a notice flashes up on the pop up where you choose which board you want to pin to, that says THIS IS ALREADY PINNED TO...and names your board.. You can pin it to a different board if you want to, tho. Like I have pinned an item both to my ART board, and to ART on eBID......

I suspect if two or more people have originally pinned the same picture from an original source, pinterest would consider it a different picture, so you might get that pinned twice, but it probably doesn't happen often. I figure someday I will just go through my boards and if there is a dup I will delete it. It doesn't hurt anything being there.

I have put lots of pins on there and quite often someone has re pinned one. When I look at that persons profile many of them obviously dont have anything to do with eBid so its good that an ebid pin is then on one of their boards for someone else to see. One person pinned one of my pins then pinned lots of other things from the ebid boards so even if it doesn't result in a sale it does spread the word around the world.

That is exactly why I do it, and why others on eBid do similar repinning. The more a pin gets out, the views multiply. I've had lots of new people start following my boards, half of which are eBid ones. I don't limit mine to eBid as I think most pinners are not there looking for items to buy. But, if they occasionally stumble on something they like, why not!

Thanks, Madelaine for explaining how to use the search feature, I saw the box but didn't use it right before, now I know a little, (a dangerous thing maybe, LOL).

You're right, Your Majesty, duplicate pins never hurt, not sure why I'm so funny about stuff, (some would say anal, but I try to steer clear of that discussion). Also, as mentioned earlier, I am finding some of my pins coming up on Google image searches, (when searching for something entirely different to boot), as well as on other Pinterest boards, so I'm thinking, as already stated, that it's good publicity for eBid.

Now to get more pins up, hard to stay too motivated when you're as lazy as I am, but it is fun to see all those pix.

BIG THANK YOU to everyone and best wishes for many sales to all,
