Thread: Computer help

  1. #1

    Default Computer help

When logging into websites my password is not being recognised, I am also receiving emails stating that my password has been changed. I am now in the process of changing all my passwords. Has anyone else experienced this type of hacking? What can I do to stop this happening again?

One thing you could do is to download Key Scrambler. This will stop any key logging malware that you've inadvertently downloaded from 'reading' your passwords as you type them.

This would indicate that your email had been compromised too.You should get a notification that your password had been changed with a confirmation link.If you haven't confirmed the change then someone who has accessed your email has.

Is it a good idea to download this even if there is no evidence of hacking? Will it interfere with existing programes such as antivirus?
    Thanks

Hi everyone, thanks for your replies. As regards spam emails I have not sent out any, but I am aware that they have been sent from my mail box, I was made aware of this by Elizabeth, one was also sent to eBid support. Elizabeth has also been helping me to clean up my computer.

Thanks Bluebedouin for the link to the key scrambler I will give that a go.

    Tricia

It probably is if you do not mind pop-ups invading every few seconds and unwanted downloads. I installed keyscrambler about half an hour ago. Since then I have been plagued by popup (despite subscribing to adblocker+, also I am getting "reminders from JDI Backup Limited about the backup status of my computer. Neither of these were evident before sign up; so this is dumped.

As I said earlier,I've never had a problem with this software.Did you download from cnet or a mirror site?Did you untick any pre-filled boxes which could have included this? It is " typically distributed as a co-bundled offer when downloading other free software".
