Hi Folks
For the first time (I think), Australia Post has issued stamps without a value on 'em'
These are Peel & Stick 70c stamps and are issued to "Concession Card" holders.
I imagine they will be a Limited issue..?
Cheers

Hi gonzo! sorry, but I think you have a typo?
A book of 5 stamps at $3.00 = .60 cents each when I went to school.
The only concession is that card holders get their first booklet of 5 stamps free & then can buy up to 50 stamps (at normal rate) per year
Gee thanks Australia Post!
I don't ever remember an Aussie stamp without values either.
"No value" on stamps seems to be a growing trend.
These days, the majority of stamps issued here in the US have no value indicated... just the word "forever." Meaning-- technically speaking-- that I can buy a stamp for 46 cents today, and mail a 1-ounce first class letter with it in 2072, regardless of what the postal rates might be by then.

Here in UK, I recently bought 2 books of 12 1st class stamps from the Post Office (before the price hike), both had '1st' on each stamp without a value.
One book had gold coloured stamps and one was a Silver book of 2012 Diamond Jubilee stamps.

I don't know when Canada started issuing stamps like those you describe. They are called 'permanent' and have a P on them.

1st and 2nd are UK permanents. Very useful when there is a price rise looming.
Eire has N, I believe.
Not come across the Australian concessions yet.
I get concessions on travel in London as an old person so I keep active. allegedly. I would love concessions on postage as well, so I keep socially active...

Whoops & doh!
My apologies to gonzo, who IS correct!
I missed the recent 10c increase in postage rates which happened on 31st March, so the standard letter price is now 70c.
Therefore card holders do save 10c on ordinary mail, plus the one free booklet. (up to 50 stamps per year)
Why don't I keep my big fat fingers still
Hi Oldandintheway,
I guess that you are approaching my age ...... When I read your first post I was thinking that my OP WAS a bit ambiguous.. :-)
The title should of course read - " A first ??" For Australia..
Regards
Steve.
