I used to use this calculator and found it much easier to use than Royal Mail's own site.

However, having recently used it to check a parcel weighing 2.1kg, the price of 7.62 that it gives is, according to my local post office, a figment of imagination.

Presumably the site is out of date. And, worse still, there's no contact form.

Thanks. Well, at least that wouldn't have led me down a primrose path. And it almost, but not quite, agrees with my local post office!

For my 2140g parcel that shows 2nd class 13.75. However, the guy at the PO was willing to take it for 12.something. I suspect he used the Parcelforce worldwide rate.

How insane is that? Parcelforce will deliver to anywhere in the world for less than the price Royal Mail will use for just the UK???

I wonder if I can buy shares in Hermes... I certainly wouldn't buy shares in RM. It really makes me sad for all the little post offices that are the life blood of their local communities, under threat through no fault of their own.

I use myHermes for practically everything these days. Much cheaper than the PO!
