Wow - the skyline pics! That is not the same city as I remember. Night markets didn't exist. The only places open after dark were bars - 'happy hour' prices were triggered (pun intended) by either automatic gunfire or explosions. If you come across a place that has the back issues for the magazine Bayon Pearnik from the late 90's, take a look. The Bayon Pearnik is infamous in its humorous take on the troubles and the utterly bizarre city it once was.
(If Bro and Sis are reading this and don't have the next trip planned: If you haven't been to Sumatra (Lake Toba, Bukit Lawang etc) then you would love it.)
Correction to last post:
Well it appears that Bro & Sil no longer know what day it is AND, they intend to finish their trip much like it started, way back in Bangkok.
That is, mistaking the departure time for the actual arrival time in Brizvegas!
Yep! that's right, they leave Phnom Penh tomorrow Tuesday, & actually arrive Brisbane about mid-day Wednesday! Doh!
Transit pix perhaps? We'll see.
They Certainly Had A Right Enjoyable Holiday.
Many of these pictures so remind me of Singapore in 1975 and the suks in Khartoum and Omdurman in the early 1980s
They've certainly had a wonderful trip.

Hi all - well Bro & Sil (Ken & Desley) have made it back home AOK & are hibernating ATM trying to come to terms with jet lag.
I'm waiting on a final report & maybe a few last pix.?
As soon as that happens, I'll get back to you.
Cheers, Allen.
Final Day Phnom Penh & Bangkok Airport Orchid Display
Hi all, well this is the last post for this trip - Awh!
Hope everybody had fun along the way & thanks for watching & participating.
I must say that I've learned a lot about Laos & Cambodia & I'm happy that they appear to be prospering finally, after all their troubled history.
You'll notice that the last day in Phnom Penh seemed to include lots of eating & drinking - strange that, adding more condition perhaps?
Hello everyone.
We are home now - actually we arrived Wednesday afternoon but have been too busy / jet-lagged to update this Blog.
I don't like unfinished business so this is our closing update for this particular trip.
We left Phnom Penh on Tuesday for an early evening (local time - 3 hours behind Brisbane) flight to Bangkok. It only takes about one hour so no dramas (except it was an Airbus A320 and I'm a bit wary of those ones now - plus I can only just fit into the seats, especially after beer & baguettes pretty much every day for over a month).
This time we didn't get the times wrong so took off from Bangers at about half past midnight.
The plane was only half full so we were able to take advantage of some '3 seat' empty spots and that made the trip home so much more comfortable.
I always worry that some clown in front will throw his seat back to maximum extension with no warning and that puts me a bit on edge. Don't want a repeat of the slightly ugly scene that arose last time someone did that to me!
Just to sort-of finalize this blog I have attached a few last minute pix.
Hopefully we will be able to have another trip sometime soon so maybe we'll pester you again yet.
Ciao.
Lets start with Brunch!
A Tuk Tuk ride in search of more food!
