Have you installed Adobe Air before trying to install Ninja?
Problem installing? Install and update Adobe AIR first.

If not, come back and I'll give you something else to look at.
It always help if you have a problem to give some indication of your setup (OS, browser, AV, Firewall, etc.)

Worth switching off any AV temporarily to see if that makes a difference.
If not, I had a similar issue a while back and it was caused by the installer being unable to delete files during the update. See:

Thanks again for your help Astral, I looked up the thread and then went and found some Macafee stuff still on the computer that came when it was bought a few months ago.. Uninstalled that and was able to install NL.
I get that message every time I try to update Ninja Lister and in the past updating Adobe Air first has always done the trick, but Adobe Air is updated and I'm still getting that message for version 1.25. Help!!
I had trouble with NL last night as I changed to Google Chrome - previously just the old version of Google.
Although I had imported all links the NL link would not work. Adobe Air v1.25 was already installed so I closed down, restarted and then reinstalled NL which cleared any NL problems.
