Thread: What do I have to do to get some help or advice around here?

  1. #1

Default What do I have to do to get some help or advice around here?

I recently paid to upgrade to lifetime seller. I got help in making a logo (thanks for that) I got my t shirt (thanks for that. But now I am finding it difficult in setting my default shipping.

I was hoping someone may have pointed me in the right direction, but it looks as if I am not going to be able to list very fast or much more in the future, I don't want to go back to the darkside, but may have to if I have wasted £40 odd quid.

    Please, Please will someone help?

    Thanks in advance.

I can see that you need to get consistent with how to payment methods, but for default shipping, it depends on how you list.
In My Defaults, go to the My Shipping Defaults in the tab on top.
If you are listing manually then using List Similar is what I use for a one off.
I don't use Ninja, it is too slow for me.

I notice that you post within 48 hours and set 1st class postage. That seems the wrong way round; if you can't post within 24 hours why should customers pay for 1st class?

You have a hangover from Ebay in setting 1p for auction and 30p for buy now. There are fewer bidding wars on Ebid, so if you set 1p starting price you are likely to end up selling the item for 1p!

The shipping code should look similar to this.

Once you have setup your stamps shipping code use Bulk Edit to add it to your current listings.

Then as Bill says use List Similar to add new stamp listings.

You could also look under the 'Help' tab http://uk.ebid.net/help_selling.php

+ check out the HTV index on the left - loads of help there.

Answer to title question - just ask.. nicely helps!

Advice to stamp seller - list tons! You just have to think of the stock a shop would carry and realise that you are trying to replicate that.

Thanks Bill, I have taken note of your advice and will change this accordingly. I would like to list say 20-30 stamps at a time using ninja lister, but when I did my three tier postage price structure seemed to be all over the place...1 for mailing to GB, another to Europe and third to the rest of the World. I thought Id ticked all the right boxes, but I think I may have not saved this with a shipping code in place.

    Thanks again

Hi Thanks for replying. I tried to set a three tier shipping code. One for mailing stamps etc to GB, one for Europe and another for the rest of the world. I then gave it a name, but it seems as though Europe is taking in GB also. Just not sure how to get the code up and running properly.

Any further advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Madelaine, I'm sorry if I came over as being nasty. I have tons to list, but I am having problems with my payment structure. I am trying to set up a shipping code, that allows me to advise the price to GB, a separate one for European buyers and a third for buyers from the Rest of the World. Any help would be gratefully received.

    Thanks

Hi Annie, thanks for replying. I have searched the HTV videos and the advice, but nothing seems to show what I'm wanting to know. I'm gonna try and list a few more and see if I have managed to solve my problem

    Thanks
    Michael (PhilAtely)
