The Imperial War Museum has a huge online project to collect information about those who served.

You can add photographs and information about your family (or anyone else you know about)

I was in the museum yesterday and when I said that I had pictures to add the curator was almost excited.

The (huge) website will not stay up forever but the information gained will be kept at the museum in perpetuity.

Thanks for that Madelaine - both my grandfathers served in WW1 in the A.S.C.

Thank you, Madelaine. We have now been able to verify OH's great uncle's DOB by providing a scan of birth certificate to the site.

This old soldier died at the battle of Loos and OH was able to visit in September, this year being the centenary.

I thought I'd push this up again - in case anyone else has anything to add to the website - all the information will be stored in the museum archives - so not only their names but anything else you know about those who served will live forever.
