Thank you for the link, Old. Very informative. I think I have too large a pot so will get a smaller one before commencing

My garden today - or part of it
All the green stuff is coming through the fence from next door!
Those lilies are lovely. And I like the green stuff
Great pix Annie & I love all the green too.
Not much going on 'round here ATM as everything is dormant for the winter.
Expecting things to liven up during Augustish.
G'day all
You may remember my 2 little Callistemon "bottlebrush" trees I planted in the front yard way back.
Well the white one is doin' great & is in bloom ATM - the red one is yet to flower, & although it has grown somewhat, it may take another season or 2 B4 I get flowers???
Anyway, imagine my joy & surprise on hearing the buzzing of many bees while watering them the other day, AND, seeing 2 Rainbow lorikeets hanging upside down like Christmas decorations, feeding on the blooms yesterday morning! Didn't get pix of that sorry - BUT, here's a net shot of the bird - & what my trees look like now! Enjoy!
PS. - this is the reason I planted these trees in the first place - to attract the fauna!
What pretty birds and the trees look good too.
Howdy all - Here's a surprise! - an orchid that caught me by flowering in the middle of winter! Yea!
This is a species called Bulbophyllum rothschildianum which is said to have a bad scent. But I can only detect a very faint spicy smell, & not one I'd call unpleasant.
A lot of the orchids in this family have a foul stench, due to the fact that their pollinators are flies, wasps, beetles & other bugs that eat rotting meat.
This plant is native to Southern China, North East India, Assam & Myanmar. It is a first time bloomer for me & has 3 spikes carrying a total of 8 blooms measuring 2.5 x 17 cms. (6.5" x 1") Enjoy!
Lovely!

Hi all long time no pix
But here's the latest orchids in bloom, both of which, I have featured before.
First is a native Oz species Dendrobium Kingianum, with a nice crop of flowers this year.
Second, is a hybrid Epidendrum 'Topaz Magic' - Epidendrums are native to Columbia
Enjoy!
