Thread: WHERE is that Smell COMING FROM????

Oh dear... that smell has a familiar waft about it...lol.

Do you have cats by any chance ? Sounds like you have a dead mouse behind there somewhere. Even if you don't have cats, a mouse/mice could still have got in.

One of my cats (I have 2) brings me "presents" every so often, but the little burger lets them go!! So they scurry off somewhere and hide. If the other one is around, he'll catch them for me. Have you ever tried to catch a mouse ?... lol. HOWEVER, I have found 3 so far on different occasions that have died and gone off .... and the smell is exactly how you describe. Not nice.

Let us know when you find it.... and if you don't... the flies might get there first.... ugh!! Good Luck!!

You mentioned sweaty socks festering in a puddle of stale milk.
I had a similar experience, turned out one of my kids had spilt some milk in the fridge.
This milk had then dripped out through the drain hole in the back of the fridge (where the fridge self-defrosts).
The idea is that as the fridge self defrosts, water drips out onto a tray mounted on the motor. The heat off the motor evaporates the water.
In this case, it had warmed the milk 'till it curdled, then warmed it some more.
Even though there was barely anything noticeable in the tray, the smell was still there.

The smell was reminiscent of dead cat presents/blocked drains.
Nowt here so don't bother looking

Mine was milk, spilled in the fridge but found its way out through the back defrost channel.
