Thread: Funniest question

  1. #1

    Default Funniest question

I had a quick look at the classifieds to see what scams are on there, and there is a genuine advert!!!
    http://us.four.ebid.net/perl/auction...1-1&mo=auction

The questioner asked 'What colours do you have?'

    PMSL.

    Any others?

It's been deleted, I wonder why?
It was the only real classified there.

anyway, just so you don't think I'm mad, it was a guy advertising his ability to do painting jobs in the Denver area.

And he never did answer my question.

Any chance you could paint a big house in Washington?
It's currently white but the present occupiers favorite colour is red.

    Talking

    Nor Mine,

Denver County's Health & Safety rules are quite strict especially for Decorators who insist on painting with a smaller brush causing lengthy times to paint buildings causing higher bills.

Also they must pay attention to the 1973 Emulsion act, Aswell as the Statute 473 which states that all Ladders used for exterior painting must be purchased from that Big Loud guy with the beard, who sells Ladders on QVC and also features in the Dustbuster Ads !
Never take your loo for granted Camping sucks.......

To me, if I see 13ml I think of that as roughly half a fl.oz.
Maybe some people don't do ml at all.

Perhaps they actually wanted to know what size the bottle was and not how many mls it contained?

Ok i can understand that ... BUT :

HERE is an actual auction of mine that ended recently.
THE ITEM FOR SALE IS :
MINIATURE ( handbag sized ) GUCCI II eau de parfum

Bottle is 5ML in size. Collectors and GUCCI lovers must have item. NEW & UNUSED
    Auction ID1137679200-22444-0

now that lady did not ask me anything but its an example of my EXACT wording.

Yes, but what is miniature or hand bag sized?

Some booksellers have books which are referred to as pocket sized. Some of these books are about 6cm tall and others are closer to 20cm tall.

The same thing goes for hand bag sized. How big is a hand bag? Are we talking about one of those micro bags that teenagers take when clubbing or one of the "it holds everything but the kitchen sink" types that mothers have when out with the brood?

Maybe people who are used to buying perfume will know roughly what size container is sold with which brand of perfume (per ml volume) but maybe some won't.

Seems to me that the ony way round it is to have a picture of the bottle shown next to a common item (perhaps a pound coin?) so people can get the scale.
