The answer to this will lie within your EventViewer (Start > Run > Eventvwr.exe <enter>). Search for a Dr Watson error on the date and time you had the fault and click the link in the description to load a link to a probable solution. Although, my first bit of advice would be to uninstall iTunes, reboot, then reinstall it afresh.
An error report I found:
Faulting application itunes.exe, version 5.0.0.35, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x10001040.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the software with no luck!
