Thread: The Spinach is better than Sprouts Thread - Popeye Rules!!

  1. #1

Thumbs up The Spinach is better than Sprouts Thread - Popeye Rules!!

I think the title says it all,
Sprouts taste & smell like rotten cabbage.

Popey is better looking than your weird Sprout Man!

    It is also useful
    http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2004/spinach-0915.html

A cookbook dating from 1390, belonging to King Richard II, contains spinach recipes.

You don't even have to cook it, but can eat it raw as a salad!!

Spinach was pushed like mad during and after the 2nd WW as a fantastic source of Iron with resulting beneficial effects. Since then, however, it has been found out that the original calculation overstated the natural goodness of spinach by ten times!

Consequently I feel that the beenfits of eating it are far less than the disgusting taste and therefore I avoid it.

I can only eat cooked spinach if it's in Eggs Florentine, though the young leaves are OK in salads.
