Free pic hosting is provided by photobucket and village photos. Just search for them on google and sign up. You can then upload photos from your hard drive to photobucket and use the link that phtobucket provides and paste it into your auctions. Hope that helps.

I also got caught by the featured listing default as a first time user. Would be nice if they changed the defualt to free listing. I beleive you can change it yourself under the default tab of your my ebid page.

I got a bill last month for ALL the pictures in my listings except the one free picture. The pictures are not hosted by Ebid, but they were charged as an extra picture.
The amount of the charge was under $2.00, and that's worth the worry, but I was surprised by the charge. Now, none of my listings re-list, they start on First Bid. If I have an item that requires lots, and lots of pictures I don't list it in this store.

I have around 8 or 10 images in every listing, (including payment logos) most are hosted on my webspace. I also use the free picture for my gallery pic. I've only been charged for the gallery picture when my item has sold, no charge for my other pictures. If you don't know what you were charged for why don't you email support & ask?

YOU'RE RIGHT! EBID DOES NOT CHARGE FOR IMAGES HOSTED SOMEWHERE ELSE!!
I am being charged, but it's because I did something different with those listings (6 listings). My image hosting service was down when I listed them, so I added the extra pictures, and was going to change them once the system came back up, but I forgot. When I found the charges I thought EVERYBODY was being charged. Well now I know, and I can fix it.
Thanks BTW for the tip on PhotoBucket. I was going to put together a system just for hosting my images even upgraded to Verizon's Fiber network (it's fast), but Photobucket is so cheap why bother building anything.

    Default Invoices for money

Have just posted about this. I'm new here and opened a gold trial account for the 99p. I did read it all and listed 5 free listings, none of which sold. No pics and I certainly didn't choose any featured listings and don't know if that happened. If it did then it wasn't with my consent. I have just been sent an invoice for £5.oo for commission. Something to do with auto relisting. Where does it say you will get charged for auto relistings? Saying you should read more is not the point. I'm not stupid and I looked in all the relevant places and it didn't mention a charge anywhere. Said free unless sold. I'm gonna contact my bankers and get them to stop any monies from ebid being taken. Apalling and sneaky behaviour!

    Sorry new to ebid.
Hiand welcome. You could use photobucket or imageshack. I have listed both of them for you to take a look at. Don't you forget to check that you have ticked the free auction box too. (LOL

Email support and tell them that you listed free auctions.

Also look in your "my money on the left hand collumn of the page when you sign in at you auction headquarters. This is where you can change your store and list the emails you want sent etc. Have a look in there and it should tell you what you have been charged for.

A lot of people are coming over to this site, giving it a trial by listing a few items, not selling anything and then being charged hidden £s for trying to give a chance to an ebay alternative before leaving very ****ed off.

The above message is not exactly the best advert for eBid is it?

I guess it is a question of growth and ambition.

The people who run eBid need to decide if they want to try to be a genuine alternative to ebay or if they're just happy to accept the (probably pretty good) cash they're earning short-term without much care for what is being sold on their site and to whom.
