Thread: PayPal Spoof

  1. #1

    Default PayPal Spoof

    Hi,
I've just received an email from 'PayPal' telling me my credit card is about to expire.

And could I just click the link to go to the next page to sign in and update my details.

Hmm, don't think so - have sent it to PP to their spoof address.

It is very realistic and it would be extremely easy to click the provided link especially if you were in a hurry.

I got one similar a few days ago saying that there had been some trouble with my credit card. I sent it to paypal and they confirmed it was a spoof. They said to never click on any link even if it is a genuine paypal email but to go to paypal by putting the paypal addy into your browser and if there is any email for you will be able to answer it there

Just a reminder to all using paypal..

Paypal will never ask you to verify or submit your personal information..

Everytime I get one of those I click on the link and where you have to insert your username and password I put my own little message for the person who is hoping to gain another person information, obviously can't repeat it here

    Regards

    Exclamation Not a good idea.

Everytime I get one of those I click on the link
Every time you click on a link you are sending them your ip address & also showing them it is a "live" email address. Some spammers use email generating software that
randomly "invents" emails to see if they get a response.
Any spam should either be forwarded to the security department of the company or just deleted, unopened.

Well, just putting in my opinion. I have been with paypal for nearly 3 years & have had no problems with them, I have been with moneybookers for about 2 months, & have been trying for over 2 weeks now to withdraw money, & STILL HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO!!! I have emailed their customer service & it takes 3 or 4 days to hear from them. I did everything they told me to do (HAD TO SEND THEM A COPY OF MY FLORIDA DRIVERS LICENSE TO VERIFY MY BIRTHDATE), & today--STILL NOT ABLE TO WITHDRAW MY MONEY--so have contacted their customer service AGAIN!!!!
