Thread: Help

Not a problem. Click "Select All Problems", then click "Fix Selected Problems". If XP says it's invalid, it is. They do have the option, Restore, top middle of the bar, so if you have problems it can put all the deleted bits back in the Registry. I have never had to do this in all the time I have used it. The first run is a bit of a shock, but your PC should run faster. I generally run it once a month, and the usual list is about 18 items. My first run with A Squared turned up 400 + items, and that was a pretty big shock too. Now I get about 10.

i have always used an older version of iolo's system mechanic, people are always supriesed at how much junk it gets rid of. look for version 5 i think its the better one.

Iolo's System Mechanic isn't Freeware. About $40 average price. RegScrub XP is free.

reg scrub identified things but wanted to charge me to deal with it? I must be doing something wrong - have used CCleaner instead now.

Will look at reg scrub again later

I don't know what you used then Ri??? RegScrub XP is by Lexun Freeware. There is no charge for it and never has been. There is another one called "RegScrub" but that isn't Freeware.

    EDIT

This takes you to the SOFOTEX site, and the free RegScrubXP download. The MajorGeeks Site seems to have been compromised. It was OK Sunday.
