Because Scotland has some stunning scenery, shame it isn't closer to the South Coast.

OH my oh my I am Nuts....After lots of research and Getting everything organised I changed my mind after making some enquires re a caravan... Looked on the other side to see how much they are going for (Theres NONE on EBid grrrrrrrrrr) Cost of storage per year (as theres no where to keep one at my House) and the cost of fitting a towbar and the electrics needed..and it all works out around the cost of the Scotland Holiday alone. To me to Hire a campervan after flying up seems to be a bit of a waste of money where as If I buy a caravan I ahve use of it for the next two to three years (I will be buying second hand)

Red, how ever you decide to do it, if you are going far north then think about going to Durness (the most north westerly village on the UK mainland. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited - absolutely stunning (unfortunately the caravan site is not open in Nov).

If you do buy a caravan you got plenty of starting points now to be going on with LOL. Bear in mind quite a lot of caravan sites in Scotlan are not open all year round - many are only open from about Mar-Oct - so you need to do you research. Also, do not underestimate the length of time it takes to get anywhere in the far north of Scotland, as the roads are windy (bendy!) and in some places have passing places only - but it is really worth it!

Backing up a single track road with a caravan behind could be an interesting experience.

I was thinking of going to Hampshire first and Practice reversing down your Mansions driveway. 50 miles in reverse should do it..........Mind that Garage do.......Damn to late!

It is Ken and the locals drive like F1 drivers too - good job you can see long distances and see when they are coming towards you! LOL! You end up sitting in passing places an awful lot!

Tis booked! I love the camper! I want one!

Booked flight and B and B for one night in Edinburgh and then onto the road in the CAMPER After once again KEN put me of the caravan (well in Scotland anyway) Thought long and hard and if I had brought a caravan this time I would need to trawl it up to Scotland and then around those single track Roads I know About (As I went 16 years ago)
Only got as far as the ferry point for sky last time then went across to Inverness and back home so Missed the Real Northern parts! and it was in June!

I think Kens got a Vendetta against Caravans so I'm going ask all the gypo's in the area to Invade his turf!
