    Default More than one category

Any chance we could list an item in 2 or even 3 categories?

For example, I have an item, which is horribly Kitsch, so belongs in Kitsch, but it's also Brewiana, advertising and a collectible in it's own right..

This sort of crop up a lot with my stuff, and I end up flipping a coin on which to put the item in, so even 2 categories would be nice

so what would happen if you had 1 item listed in 3 catogorys and all 3 had bids on :?: :?:

It would mean thet you would have to say to 2 people sorry i had it listed in another catogory and it got more money in there so tough luck to you ...........Then you would get tons of negs in return..

I have seen this often when people have added the same item listed in 2 sites and they give it to the one that had the biggest bid ..

Once i even bidded on both sites and when i won both had some lame excuse from the seller in one site saying that the item was damaged before the end of the auction and an email in the other saying thanks for winning the auction as i used this email for one and my wifes in the other... so in return i decided not to buy and neged him in both sites aswell as emailing him stating he was full of sh*te and told him what i did and thankfully never got a neg in return

Good idea - I've had this problem before. Maybe you could introduce it as a feature?

I'm sure you've misunderstood Nuts... Only one item is offered, but the item shows up in 2 diff categories when you are browsing. So only one item and one lot of bidding, but showing in 2 places. The idea is for things that might cross categories, e.g. a plain kids tshirt might be for a boy or a girl, so you advertise it in boys and girls categories.

Ebay have it and Yahoo uk had it too.

It would be much better for those difficult-to-categorise items. Suppose I'd bought some dragon pearls and decided to sell them at a quick profit. No need to campaign for a new section for dragon pearls, no need to risk being banned for running multiple auctions in different categories. Magic!

i agree with this idea as i am usually stuck when it comes to listing some things.

for example, when i have a crystal to sell i can put it in "Spirituality & Metaphysical : Crystal Healing" and also in "Collectables : Crystals, Rocks and Fossils".

therefore i have 2 sets of very different browsers looking at the same item.

usually makes for a good bidding war too! hehehehe

I dont see why we cant do this...

We just give 2 (or more) drop down boxes for category choice when the auction starts...

    How many would you like..

    I think 3 should be a max.

I would have suggested 2, coz most times things just cross 2 categories, such as girls accessories and boys accessories for a plain cap (say)
