Over 20 years ago, I was given this cheapo $15 National Semiconductor digital watch from Wal-Mart. It lost ONE SECOND per year. I lost it and no one would even acknowledge it had existed other than one jeweller that would have given me $50 for every one I brought to him

The only downfall of that watch was despite being LCD, it ate a lithium battery every year.

I also remember those first HUGE calculators that came out. My mum and dad kept typing in sums, then sitting down with a pen and paper to do the calculations by hand so they could check if the calculator got it right or not
