    Default How do I fix the auction width?

    Is there some html code I can add to my listings to return the width to the narrow style to avoid the embarrasment of this sort of thing:

    Add the following code (in red) to the start of your auction:

    <div style="width: 600px; margin: 0 auto;">
    <center><b><font size=4>
    None Dare Call It Treason

    etc.etc.etc.
    And add this bit in red to the very end:

    <font face ="Arial,sans-serif" size ="4" color=blue><a href ="http://uk.ebid.net/stores/BooksGo">++ Click here to see more books in my eBid Store ++</a></font>
    <p>
    </b>
    </div>

    That should do it. But I don't think there's anything wrong with your auctions as they are - it certainly wouldn't have any effect on me whatsoever if I was looking at your items.

    If you're worried about the large blank spot where a picture would go, you might consider utilizing a standard image of your design/choosing for your listings which do not have actual item images. That way, for those items of lower value where the time spent on actual pictures may be a less productive activity, you would have something passable and reuseable to fill the void. Just a thought.

    Otherwise, I too thought the auction looked fine as presented.

    Changing the width of your auction won't change the layout of the auction page. The box surrounding your auction will remain the same size, your auction will just be smaller within it.

    Take a look at my auctions to see what I mean.

    Thanks 3drom but Damian Steele is right, the outer border doesn't change.

    Seems like drcooper's suggestion will be what I'll have to use for the no-photos bulk upload I'm planning.

    Hi Booksgo, I know the outer border wouldn't change, that isn't possible. I thought you wanted to make the content of the auction itself a bit narrower so it would look like it used to. Can you put an example auction up of what it looks like when you add the two bits of code I posted? Then I can change it from there.

    Here you go, I think it looks worse. I thought the border would automatically adjust but it seems it is now max all the time anyway...?
