How very true; good news doesn't get the ratings up. :\

I told a few SGI dealers I know about eBid. Only one has responded
so far, alas fairly dismissive about using eBid aswell as or instead of
eBay. Well, if people don't switch when a service is bad, they can
hardly complain when it bites them on the butt later on...

PS. Here's the post I made ebout eBid on the main SGI forum btw. One
of my auctions has received a starting bid, so I guess someone
decided to have a look! 8)

PPS. This'll make you giggle. I talked to my brother last night
on the phone, turns out he's known about and has been using
eBid for ages. He never mentioned it because he assumed I
already knew... :}

You'll be pleasantly surprised and happy to know that the admin are very quick to deal with shady dealings when reported. They are REAL people responding promptly to our queries.

We, at eBid, believe there is no such thing as a stupid question (at least not me) and everyone is so friendly and helpful. They sure got me started on the right foot. I was also a seller 'OVER THERE' and closed my store in January when I heard of what was to come. I joined eBid in February and now feel part of 'a family' here. I just love it

That much seems clear from the posts I've read. By conrtrast,
eBay only offered moral support (but not publicly) when I was
trying to get my money back from PayPal last year; they said
they couldn't contact PayPal directly on my behalf (don't believe
that for a minute).

From the comments I heard today, I think lots of people &
companies are only sticking with eBay atm because they
perceive that that's where the majortity of buyers are looking.
This may be true, but I'm amazed they don't open up an eBid
account aswell to at least compare. The fee structure is so
obviously fairer & cheaper, I just don't get the resistance to
using eBid at least aswell as eBay if not instead of. Beats me.
