I use 123-reg.co.uk - they provide templates and it's just like using word or listing an auction with all the button bars for fonts, sizing, etc. - easy to do and costs about £30 a year!

If you want someone to do it for you, my son does websites.

When you say 'web designer' it sounds as though you're prepared to spend a bit to accumalate.

There are free web hosts which are available for you to (a) test your own designing skills and more importantly (b) test the water.

I've always used www.freewebs.com - the interface is very simple and it's always adding new features .... although I gave up on the idea of setting up an e-commerce site when I hit on e-Bid - freewebs provide a very easy way of getting products on the web in seconds complete wih PP or GC (and other) payment options.

Until your bandwith starts getting used up with loads of hits it's free to run .... monthly fees (nominal) would kick in if you exceed certain (reasonably high) limits......although they never take these unless you sign up for the next level.

doyourownsite.com I've used for years and I think they are excellent. Their customer service is brilliant and the system is very very easy to use. Have a look at boodleum.com and you'll see what I mean. They have alsorts of nice features you can incorporate too and cost between £6 and £17 per month and nope I'm not on commission lol

You could also use http://www.buyitsellit.com which is totally free and makes setting up a store super easy.

Nykmedia supplies websites that will point traffic to your eBid sales at a reasonable cost. If you type her name into the find field at the top of the page and alter the drop down menu to find a member. If you click on the link at the bottom of this post you can see an example of what she supplies.
