Thread: Really silly problem re: property listing.

  1. #1

Default Really silly problem re: property listing.

As there is now a property and land section I have listed some of our Bulgarian properties. I have paid for extras as I don't want to be listing these for free and feel I should give something to eBid for each listing.

I have, in accordance with the legal side of property auctions listed them as 'for information' as obviously there are legal requirements and procedures to follow for property listings. People are required to view the properties and pay a deposit should they wish to purchase. So a sale on here would only show once the process was totally completed.

I now have a email saying my listing is in breach of eBid's policy's because of the information bit!

My other sales are doing well and I'm really happy with eBid, but this is a bit of a silly issue, that has annoyed me slightly. I've paid for this auction featured twice because I made a cock up the first time I listed it, so I'm not trying to avoid any fees, in fact I'm happily paying fees for the joy of being able to list these properties.

    Any suggestions anyone please?

Try talking to support@ebid.tv and getting their advice on how you should proceed. They may also be amenable to refunding some or all of your fees once you have explained the situation; however, as has been said, information only auctions are in breach of the posted rules.

I could cry, the listing has totally gone, it took me hours last night to get it right and now I've deleted the rough information I had on the sizes of the rooms and all.

I could just have relisted it and removed the 'information only' bit! I just didn't want people thinking they were going to have to fork out 165,000 euros by paypal!

Hi Damien, thanks I've emailed them and will see what they say.

I've probably just erred on the wording, the property is available and for sale by us in Bulgaria.

I just didn't want anyone who may be interested to think that I expected them to pay the 165,000 Euros before any legal work had been done!

it will be intresting to see how they reply but it seems you are between a rock and a hard place through no fault of your own....

in "anything left" there is a section for property however in the banned items is this...

    Real estate

Real estate laws and commission structures differ dramatically from state to state. Because of the legal complexities regarding the sale of real estate, real estate is not permitted for sale.

You been reading my mind Somers?

Seems to me that the "grey" area needs to have some time & thought put into it.

This might be the first time for this issue......but it sure as heck won't be the last

Let's face it, no-one is going to part with vast amounts of money....... before visits, surveys etc. etc.

We now have a property and land section but we are not permitted to sell real estate?

Dee you were certainly on a hiding to nothing on this one.......sounds like you've very kindly volunteered to be our test case as OTVB says........ hope it works out okay.

Personally I think the areas far too grey for a global site like this to cope with in any case and the ruling Somer quotes seems only right........ but then why introduce a section?

I'm so glad I 'm not going nuts!

When I asked for this catergory to be added I asked for a 'classified' rather than standard listing format. This would then put it in the area of advertising rather than a auction item for sale (hence why I put on the listing 'information purposes)

This is a catergory that is available on the other side. You can either list in auction format or via the classified section. The difference is that even if you sell at auction you cannot force the sale to continue as the buyer doesn't have the chance to view the property beforehand like with a standard property auction.

The positive side of allowing these types of listings is that they are a very popular google search and will bring new users to eBid. Chances are that once they view the site the auction lead they will stick around and view other items for sale.

If they are run correctly they are a good addition to the site.

We have a estate agency in Bulgaria. My partner is Bulgarian and lives full time there, I live full time here (not so easy relationship) it does give us the advantage of being able to offer a fully rounded service as people don't need to be phoning Bulgaria when they buy, I can sort all the discussions from here and pass information back and forwards without the problems caused from the language misinterpretation that can occur.

I was over the moon when I realised they had added the catergory and spent most of Friday night putting the listings together, this stopped me doing my pre used clothing listings for the other site!!!!

Now I've got one of the listings as a front page listing

I am in a real dilemma, do I remove them or hope I don't lose my account? If I remove them I will have to totally redo the listings in the event this very silly problem does get resolved!
