Error trying to list item

I have been a member here for some years now, but following the latest round of fee increases on feebay I am going to move lock, stock and barrel to here.

Trying to list my first item with no success though. fill in all the details, click on preview and then after about 15-20 seconds on posting.cgi I get an Page cannot be displayed error.... any ideas? Tried a number of times throughout the night, restarted the process, logged out and in again..

I'm listing ok at the moment have you tried changing browser, Firefox instead of IE....or v versa.

Hopefully someone with more technical know how than me....will be along shortly.......

Ive always found logging out then back in clears it for me.

I've tried logging in and out, made no difference.

Didn't really want to install another browser.. The delay in the webpage loading suggests it's an eBid problem rather than local. I have forwarded to support as well, see if they are aware of anything.

Another suggestion is the old one of clearing the cache and cookies, don't know why but it often works.

Bit of an odd one. I think support are looking into it.

I can add a very basic auction, but when I try and do anything fancy in the description it fails.

By fancy, do you mean a template?

It may be worth trying to set your page as a "default" first....then you can just "populate" your listing.

Thanks for your replies. Got to the bottom of the problem.

It turned out that the picture I was trying to link to off our server wasn't allowing hotlinking, so eBid wasn't able to upload the image.

Support have passed it to the technical team so that they can look at providing an error page explaining the problem rather than letting the page timeout.
