Thread: Anyone else using videos in their listings?

Default Anyone else using videos in their listings?

Anyone else using videos in their listings?

I thought I would give it a try today.

    See here

Just as a side note, I posted this using YouTube - if anyone else is using Youtube to promote ebid, there is an Ebid group on youtube.

As a buyer, would a video help you make a purchase?

If I did buy something from eBid, a video would definitely help me with making a purchase. It'd give a lot more information, depending on what the item was.

For example in your video, you can see the condition of the book and are able to get more of a 'feel' of it. It would help with any doubts or questions.

Better than just pictures and words in a description.. in my opinion.

I think it's a great thing to have on your listings. As long as you have the time and can put in the effort, go for it!

I am glad that is how you saw it. There isn't much you can do with a book in a video, but yes as you say you can at least see the condition all the way throughout and get a 'feel' for it. Regarding time and effort, yes it does take a long time, but when it is a rare and relatively expensive item, I think it is worth making the effort, especially as the item has a rather limited readership. I recommend anyone to give it a go.

If nothing else at least ebid and your listings will get a little coverage over on YouTube.

As far as books go, I think video will lend itself well to pop-up books.

I think that video's can help to sell an item.
    BUT.
It would have to be an expensive item to justify the time spent on putting the video together.
Not much use for a low priced item unless you are a bulk seller of the same item.
