I reckon there is someone at AOL who is in sole charge of overseeing the free AOL email accounts of people who moved from AOL.
They seem to have a lot of work output - wonder how much that job pays

Spam emails usually increase when you've posted your email address somewhere on teh internet where it can be 'harvested'. As ebid don't allow users to post their email addresses in listings or on our 'about me' page, ebid is the least likely cause of any increase in spam you may have.
It is very rare that I get spam now, the last one was back in July.

The trick is to guard your email addy carefully, however it only needs to be on someone's PC that you have had dealings with, and if they are less than careful about security, your email then gets grabbed. Once it is out in the wild then you are an open target for SPAM. I'm sure that if a concerted effort was made by all the ISP's it could be stopped.

I've not had any spam in the email account I use for eBid.
The only account I get spam in is the one I used to use for Freecycle, Yahoo Groups seems to invite spammers for some reason, and a Yahoo account appears to have no protection from them.
I also have had NO spam in the account I use for eBid - I was taking particular note, as I opened that account just for eBid!
I do, however, have loads in the one I use for feebay, ta*bar, and Yahoo groups.
(I'm getting more careful now, and tend to 'isolate' sites into groups!)
