I'm really not sure what the answer is. From what I've read on the forums, people have been stung no matter what payment option they have used.
Of course PP might have a few more complaints. They are by far the biggest online payment processor. So it's a matter of numbers. Not rocket science.
One is no better than the other it appears. Use what you are comfortable with. Trashing other peoples payment options sure isn't going to help the online sales for sure. My own opinion (note that) Ok ,so who knows who owns the other payment options? Who has the shares in them? lol
Update. From what I can find it looks like a huge medical malpractice insurance company is the largest shareholder in google at moment. (SCPIE Holdings Inc.)

Come now, if you were a scammer what is going to be your favoured method? Sending a cheque which costs you the price of an envelope, paper for printing out the order, writing out the cheque, the stamp, and then posting the thing....
Or
Clicking a few buttons on a website.
No-brainer as far as I can see. Ever since PeePal became widely used it has to be the tool of choice for the scammer. Once a cheque has been received by a seller and it goes into their bank OK then the money is cleared and real, there is no way for a scam buyer to get their money back as far as I know. I'm aware that a seller who accepts a cheque may also be a scammer, and attempt to get more out of the cheque than is written, but I haven't heard of a genuine case of this happening in years (probably because so many people are having scammer problems with PeePal instead).

maybe the buyers from over there will look elsewhere for their purchases- maybe somewhere that gives them more choice in how they will pay!
Just to add to the confusion.
Same question asked on boards over there and a pink replied.
This will not be implimented on the UK site.

Not a big ebayer fan here, but its a bit unclear as to how far its going to go.
Whatever way it goes you can be certain it will definitely not be in the sellers favour.
Although I use it, it doesnt mean I enjoy paying the fees for paypal.
99.9% of my sales are paid for by that method.
BUT..........
I was looking for an item on ebid last week.
I was just about to purchase, when I notice that the seller charges a fee for paying by Paypal.
Now - that is his choice, and good luck to him, but I am not paying my own paypal fees as a seller, AND paying someone elses fees as a buyer.
I purchased the item on another site.
Most of my sales are paid via peepal and I just swallow the fees.
This is what Feebay wants (cos they make more money).
Way back in time many sellers on feebay put a chare on to cover their fee's.
This of course got stopped.
At the end of the day if you are buying then the final price is what you are happy with.

Well I offer both PP or using a cheque for my items so the buyer has the choice. Seeing how it's taking over 2 weeks to get an item I bought from the UK a cheque sent to pay for an item would have an awfull long wait before it ever got shipped. It costs the seller PP fees and not the buyer so it doesn't affect them. I've just had good luck with PP and have gotten my money back from a couple of fairly big purchase's. I wonder if square trade is available to ebid? I bought insurance on an item I never recieved and they refunded me the next day after I made my claim. On a weekend also. I was really impressed with their service. If someone doesn't take PP it makes me think they have been disallowed and makes me suspicious as to why? Google checkout is not available to Canada as of yet. They are new and just getting started.
