I've just done a marketing course at my local e-factor, (free training and advice for small businesses - absolute godsend) and there were some pretty decent ideas that were thrown out.
One thing that strikes me is that a lot of people (and no-one in particular in mind here) seem to think that just because it's not a bricks-and-mortar shop, it somehow doesn't cont as a real business. It does! You have your overheads, you have your sales (hopefully!) etc, it's just that your medium is not teh traditional shopfront.
From tomorrow, think of your stuff on ebid as a business. It requires thought, planning and effort. Get ahead for next year - are there any prominent dates? Adult - Valentines for you should be a busy time. Get thinking now about adverts, promotions, etc, so it's not a last minute panic. Get involved with a local business network - you would not believe how many useful people I've come across in these meetings. It's your business, so make it work. Look at local training opportunities - get a business plan. Boring yes, useful, YES!!
In other words, get passionate, get motivated and get busy! Go!!! Run!!! NOW!!!!
Just my pennysworth (was a tuppence, but with the credit crunch,.....)
