It will be 27 years for us next week.
Like Gothecina, we didn't have a big do. Got married in Venezuela. The magistrate came to our flat and married us there (that's the norm out there if you don't go for a church wedding) in the presence of all of our friends. Had ap arty in the flat afterwards. Didn't have a honeymoon, because we had a 2 weeks holiday in December in Barbados.

42 years married with a girl I went with for 6 years.
    Everyday is a romance.
    We met in Art school.
She would sneak in after class and mess up the work I did....
I told her I would get even with her someday and I did.
    I married her.

She thinks it's the funniest thing.
    I got lucky.

    !st time round 23 years......
This time round nearly 16 years.....

    What has marriage brought me?

I have mothered five wonderful people....

I have found a soul mate and bestest friend...

It certainly has not brought me any benefits as to be married means that I am not able to claim ....If I was living in sin then I could probably dodge the DSS spies and have me council tax paid and get pension credits....as many of my aquaintences do

However I am Happy, contented and laughed myself silly when I found out I couldn't take OH on a saga Holiday...he's too young.... and we couldn't convert our home for cash in those awful schemes because he's not over sixty.....
So we happily stay at home...snuggled up... doing our own things ....Is this romantic???

Well what does happily ever after mean ?

Been married 42 years, remember my dad saying, when I told them I was to marry,

WHY marry one and make her miserable for the rest of your life,

STAY SINGLE and make hundreds happy,

Stay a bachelor LIKE YOUR FATHER,

We’ve been married 19 years this June, we lived together for 2 years before that.

I think you get out of marriage what you put into it! We’re still happy together, sure our relationship is different after this many years, but we both like it the way it is.

The piece of paper is irrelevant…it’s the commitment you make to one another that’s important and that means different things for different couples, for some it’s marriage, for others it’s living together. The commitment is what counts IMO.

    I’ve always said a wedding doesn’t make a marriage……

    Blessings
    Sharon
