Default Shipping not carried over to PayPal

Just wondering if anyone else sees this problem.
When I invoice a buyer there is a link in the invoice to carry the cart over to PayPal for payment. But for the last month of sales the shipping charge isn't showing up in the cart when the buyer pays. So I end up direct billing them from PayPal, but that isn't very elegant.

If I offer free shipping it isn't a problem, but I can't afford to do that all the time.

Can you give us any examples for us to check.

    Thanks,

Not sure what you want as an example, but the past four sales have had shipping on the invoice, but the buyer was NOT charged shipping once they logged into PayPal.

Specifically on international transactions this seems to be the case, but I have had the problem with all transactions. I have direct billed several times from PayPal to get around it.

If you want specific transaction numbers, please email me.

Make sure you are not overriding the shipping prices we send. There are options in the PayPal settings to do this and a few users have been caught out with this before.

Not sure what you mean, the charges aren't showing up in PayPal. I have deleted all my shipping preferences from paypal. So if I get any more sales I'll see if it works.

I think it was something poopal brought in on the quiet a while back.

    Log in to poopal

Select My Account > Profile > Postage Calculations

Look right at the bottom of the page and there is a checkbox captioned: Click here to allow transaction-based postage values to override the profile postage settings listed above. Make sure that is ticked.

    Save the settings

I beleive that is what Gazza is talking about. I recall it caused some problems when it was introduced.

Ok! I know I'm having one of those moments!

Use the shipping fee in the transaction instead of my calculator's settings:

But do I check yes or no?

Or do I just make the whole thing Inactive?

    Thank You!

OK this thread has earned my interest...I run a web site and use the Pay Pal shopping cart that has all postage calculated into each item.
I haven't sold anything yet, is this (CLICK HERE TO ALLOW) as above mentioned needed in my case also? I haven't had any problems with Pay Pal , yet and would enjoy it staying like that.
