Has Ebay Finally Shot Itself In the Foot?

Hi. I'm totally new here. I was with Fleabay for over 4 years and had great feedback....100% on 1745. Lately they removed 2 of my listings because....I jest not....I used "as new" in the description. The cheeky greedy sods suspended my account for a week because I re-listed the items one of which was a used once snow board! used once, no marks... ergo AS NEW. Anyway, I'm going to give eBid a whirl and see what happens. Have any readers had negative experiences on here? Or is it ALL good. Also, why here and NOT Fleabay? Love to read your tales!

Nothing is 100% anywhere including here on eBid. There have been cases of buyers not receiving items, sellers not receiving payments etc and other minor discrepancies - just like any other auction site. The good thing is that the eBid management deal with these problems very quickly and make sure the perpetrators are unable to do business on here ever again.

Hi I left there the rule sellers cannot leave negative feedbacks to buyers you have to treat buyers like royalty because if you do not they can leave you a negative ..one way street don't you think.. you cannot leave negative but they can..??? and if you get negatives e$ay can suspend you. end all your listings and you have 30 days to bring your ratings back up.how do you do that if you cannot sell ?? Duh.oh yeah guarenteed we will see more coming here.But could cause issues..

That is exactly what happened to me, shiningstar, and I suspect that it has happened to many others too. What infuriated me about the process was that it was so arbitrary. I think I had four negative feedbacks, all for trivial or completely spurious reasons.

At no point in the process does any human agency actually look at the feedback. The decision is taken by a computer, and then some flunkey phones to tell you that you ae suspended. There is no appeal. The flunkey does not call to discuss the matter with you, but simply to convey the message.

The irritating thing is that there are plenty of sellers out there who really should be suspended, but eBay does nothing about them. Instead they go after genuine sellers, no doubt to reinforce the message that the buyer comes first.

Wow...I was starting to feel victimised....paranoid....maybe! But I had 2 outstanding issues on Fleabay, both with foreign buyers who claimed not to have received their items. Then when supplied proof of postage and a tracking number the items "miraculously" turned up! In the meantime PayPal held MY money. Fleabay said they wouldn't reinstate my account until PayPal had resolved the issues. So, all my bids where cancelled and all my listings closed....some with only hours to run! Dictatorial idiots!! No chance to have your say, no chance to reason, no past history taken into account. One of the foreign buyers had only 2 feedback but HIS word was deemed BETTER than mine. With the amount they charge to list and sell you would think they would show SOME loyalty and not-so-common sense. Anyway, I'll put my first item on here tomorrow and see what happens. Nice to know, (no malice intended), that others have had equally bad experiences with the Fleas though and will emigrate to eBid

I am another Ebay refugee. Friday, after closing my Ebay store I took a survey and told them exactly what I thought about them.... Less than 6 hours later, the auctions that I had left (only 4) were ended for shill bidding.....funny only one of them had a bid and it was .99 cents.....I have never shill bidded. Then 5 minutes after that I received a message that my account had been suspended due to violation of ebay policy. The message said " Suspension due to association with the following account:___________" There was no account listed.

If that's not bad enough, they also suspended the account of my employer because we have signed in using the same IP address. The ended over 200 store listings of my employer because we logged in using the same IP address....

I'm glad I found Ebid, I've paid for seller+ lifetime and have about 6 listings so far. I expect this site to grow tremendously in the next few days.

hi funny I was jumping Ship too.. took that survey and left every negative possible.. in about the same time period my account was suspended all my listings cancelled. then they tell you in 30 day's maybe but you have to bring up your scores . kind of hard to do if your restricted cannot sell Duh..anybody you up set on ebay can shut you down like flipping a light off. well you can flip them off too.I am new here too. look around at all the newies we are the one with the sun glasses. wow alot of us..Welcome to Ebid .

hatch...I'm a small time seller who also left the dark side. I have already made my $49.99 fee back. Now, if an item doesn't sell, I pay no fees for listing. I don't have the traffic/views I had over on the dark side, but I'm happy here. Ebidders are happy and eager to help other ebidders.

I think that as ebid grows and offers more variety of items, the buyers will find us. Especially since I think the small sellers are leaving the other venue because of high fees and no seller protection.
