Thread: New 'stores' category?

  1. #11

    Wink junior sizes/category

Its a female body type, a young teenager with slim build and not much curve. US junior sizing is odd numbers, 3, 5, 7, 9, 13, 15, and 17. Clothing is ultra stylish & cut slim, i.e. jeans are tight and very low waisted. A woman of some years (laugh inserted here), could technically fit into a junior size, but to use the UK phrase, would look like mutton dressed as lamb.

Junior clothing is the Hannah Montana look, pink, orange, metallics, bows, rivets, pictures on shirts, etc. Almost like clothing for a 4 year old but made larger (mean but true, you can pick it out a mile away).

Because of tight cut, not interchangable with other women's sizes. Could create problems if junior is not separated from women's clothing. i.e. Someone wearing a size 12 may order the 13 thinking it will fit, but will find it hard to squeeze into.

All US stores have a separate junior department. The clothing has its own neon glow.

    AhA! - suitable for 'Teens'?

We don't really have that sort of thing here I'd say - usually at top end of kids stuff, or in cheapo shops like New Look, or Peacocks I think - interesting!

And a 4 year old could fit into a Junior x-small, my daughter is 22 and wears a Junior small and Junior size 5 jeans. I wish we could have a Junior category under Womens clothing. All teens and young adults wear Junior sizes in the US.

Bumping in the faint hope that Gazza will see it!

Too many general women's clothes stores in the 'search stores>womens clothes' section, as no option to sub-categorise!!

Bumping again - I'm sure that the specialist clothes store owners would like to see 'Women's clothing' split into further categories - too many to search through at present!

I agree. I think I will start a new thread for "Junior" sized clothing. Nearly every US teen and young adult wears clothing in the Junior size category. Even "chubby" teens can wear a 13, 15, & 17. Every department store here, such as JC Penney, Macy's, Sears, Elder Beerman, etc., has these departments: Juniors, Womens (including sub-departments of Plus sizes and Petites), Childrens, and Mens (including a section for "Young Mens"). The Junior section is about a 1/4 of the store, but probably makes up of 1/2 of the sales.

JudesNiceThings, I hope you get the sub-cats you need. I see you are only asking for it in the stores. Good Luck.
