The Spring 2013 revised seller agreement included the ability for ebay to refund purchase price at their discretion via sellers back up funding source.

The last day I listed on ebay was when I received this revision and asked to accept it.
I can't believe how many sellers remain there.

i too have had a similar problem. i sold a laptop for spares or repair on ebay. As i had only listed tracked delivery at 21 pounds the buyer emailed and asked if they could have the cheapest delivery possible. so i sent it by ordinary parcel post (this was 2 years ago before i knew aout myhermes and similar) After 10 days the buyer claimed non receipt and before i could reply initiated a paypal chargeback and left me feedback accusing me of being a thief. I put a claim in to royal mail who wrote to the buyer and asked him to sign a form saying he had not received the item. he refused to sign so i lost the laptop, the money and my 100% feedback. I have been very wary of ebay ever since

This is why I will not ever sell on e*** again. After it was all said and done I got a note from the 'buyer' who got 3 blankets free including shipping and handling, saying thank you for the 3 beautiful free blankets. And it will keep happening as long as e*** has sellers to rip off.

That does not negate your legal right to your property. Once the buyer has been refunded the ownership of the item reverts to the seller. The buyer has a legal duty to look after the item for the owner until they can take possession. To keep, sell, or otherwise dispose of the item would be theft.

You are correct but ebay wants nothing to do with the legalities. Typical "ebay doesn't care about sellers" attitude.
Might be why they do not promote" Seller Protection" on a huge badge.

eBay is irrelevant. If you agree to their terms and conditions of use then you also agree that they can refund. For the 'buyer' to then deprive you of your property is theft under law. Nothing to do with eBay.

I don't know how much interest the police would show if you reported it as a theft - they tend not to show much interest in the law nowadays.

In my case they would do absolutely nothing.

This must be a first. I actually agree with Sid :-)
My posts only state my own opinions, unless I've stolen them from someone else
